| | Lead story / launch Sakana AI lets business agents reuse data connections and rulesSakana AI has introduced Aquarium, a managed foundation designed to keep companies from rebuilding business knowledge for each AI agent. Data connections, definitions, decision rules and operating controls prepared for one agent can support others on the same foundation, the company says. At its center is an organized map of business knowledge: what terms mean, how data relates and which decision criteria apply. Aquarium connects information in formats including tables and documents while leaving source data in its existing storage locations. Updates are reflected for agents to use. Workflows can combine finding information, AI judgment, function execution and human approval. Access permissions and approval requirements are set before execution, while records trace the information consulted, decisions made, approvals received and results. Sakana also says Aquarium provides visibility into execution speed, accuracy and model usage. The platform draws on earlier finance projects with Mitsubishi UFJ Bank, SMBC Group and Daiwa Securities Group—not newly announced Aquarium deployments. Adoption starts with customer-specific consultation and joint construction and validation, initially around one operation. Sakana has disclosed neither pricing nor a general-availability date; AI-assisted agent construction and updates based on operational feedback remain planned capabilities. Read full story ↗ |

 | tools Anthropic says fewer AI agents can work faster, but can also skip stepsAnthropic recommends testing whether a single agent with on-demand specialist instructions can replace a fixed network of subagents. One customer measured roughly twice the execution speed, but a separate support example skipped a required shipping-date check in one of two runs. The company advises merging one specialist at a time and checking end-to-end regressions. Subagents can still make sense for parallel tasks, context limits or conflicting tools and instructions. | | security risk Major U.S. banks reportedly tighten rules on AI agents’ account accessAxios reported that major U.S. banks are tightening rules against autonomous actions in customer accounts, even when customers supply login credentials. JPMorgan and Citi allow limited read-only access through approved providers, not transaction authority. Reuters could not independently verify Axios’s specific cases, and Morgan Stanley said it had seen no rogue-agent access. The restrictions are not a blanket ban on AI tools reading financial data.
